Jim Lawson, the head of Woodbine, has shared that he plans to leave his leadership position this autumn at an unspecified time after guiding the company the position for eight years. Plans are underway this summer to unveil a $1 billion resort adjacent to Woodbine Racetrack. This venture will include a casino, a 400-room hotel, dining facilities, and a 5,000-seat live entertainment venue.

Last year, Lawson disclosed Woodbine Entertainment’s vision to create a national training hub for Canada’s football teams. Woodbine has earmarked land for developing stadiums and a center of excellence for the sport in Canada.
