Our revenue model includes offering advertisers the space for paid placements. The payment for these placements may influence the visibility of certain advertisers’ offers on our platform, resulting in not all available products or services being featured on Betsquare. Moreover, our articles sometimes incorporate links to advertisers' offers; these 'affiliate links' can earn us a commission when visitors click on them. There’s a flood of news this week revolving around gambling activities in Australia and New Zealand. Get the scoop on the week’s events in the gambling world, online casino´s and casino operators.

In a substantial move, New Zealand’s government declared their intention to allocate significant funds towards minimizing the harm caused by gambling. Over the next three years, they will inject a massive NZ$76.12 million into an advanced program tackling gambling harm and tackling health disparities. This initiative represents a $15.78 million increase from the previous funding cycle.

Melbourne, Australia remains a hotbed for news on the Crown casino as the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) embarks on another set of proceedings against it. Previously, the casino faltered in its gaming responsibilities with Chinese visitors using China Union cards there. This time, the inquiry will spotlight their oversight in monitoring customers showing probable gambling addictions.

“Crown’s duties in responsible gambling are essential parts of their license, meant to shield vulnerable guests and mitigate harm to the gamblers, their kin, and the community as a whole. No duty stands above this one,” remarked Fran Thorn (VGCCC Chair) regarding these issues.

The VGCCC is stern about this apparent neglect in responsible gaming and intends to implement necessary disciplinary measures, potentially involving fines up to AU$100 million and other actions concerning Crown’s Melbourne gaming license.

“The Royal Commission unveiled many heartrending anecdotes of people being encouraged beyond their financial limits. The VGCCC is resolute in addressing the problems the Royal Commission uncovered about Crown’s responsible gambling policies, ensuring the casino operator remains aligned with legal and communal expectations.”
